Between classes, work, student orgs, and everything else that filled my busy schedule – at the end of the day I want to come back to a place that is mine. This is why I have put so much effort into creating a space that feels like home.
As a college student, I never want to spend a ton of money of decor for my dorm so I am constantly finding inexpensive DIY projects to express my style. In this post, I’ll give you a look into my apartment and some tips on how to find/create inexpensive decor to match your personal style.

DIY Gallery Wall
This is by far my favorite part of my room. This gallery wall is filled with motivating words and design inspiration. To create this, I first browsed Pinterest for images that matched my rooms color scheme. After I found a sufficient amount of photos, I saved them to my computer. You could print these images from home but I choose to save my ink and print them from Office Depot which cost me less than $10. I finished this project off by hanging string lights around the prints which makes my room feel super warm and cozy!

DIY Photo Grid Wall
I ordered this set of two wire grid panels from Amazon and used clear command hooks to hang it above my desk. I then printed photos of myself, friends, and family using the Shutterfly app. If you download their app, you can order prints for free and you will only have to pay for shipping. I used sticky tack that I got from Target in the office supplies aisle to hang the photos on the grid and that’s it! As you can see, these grids also make a great holder for your sunglasses!
