I am someone who loves to read, but lately, I have been so on the go that I don’t have much time to sit down and pick up a book. Podcasts have become a great alternative for me. I love to fuel my brain with the positivity, wisdom, and motivation that these podcasts leave me with.
I have begun replacing listening to music or watching Netflix with listening to podcasts when I want to multitask. This feels a lot more productive and fulfilling. Every
I tend to listen to podcasts that have an entrepreneurial or motivational theme to them. Hearing other people’s stories on how they began and grew their businesses is very inspiring to me. It is also interesting to listen to others’ perspectives on what it is like to be a young person in today’s society and the issues that we face on a daily basis.
Listening to podcasts has become my go
The Real Reel with Natalie Barbu
I first found Natalie through her YouTube channel where she creates beauty and lifestyle videos. I was very excited to learn that she would be starting her own podcast. She is such a positive soul and simply listening to her speak brightens my day. I find it truly amazing how she is able to balance her YouTube channel, this podcast, an online store, and up until recently a 9-5 job, along with so much more.
She does not disappoint with her content. Most of her episodes are interview style and her guests include young people who are fulfilling their dreams early on in their lives. This is a podcast that resonates most with me because many of her guests are current college students (like myself) or recent grads. This makes it relatable and proves how even at a young age, with the right mindset I can start my own business and be successful.
How I Built This with Guy Raz
This is the first podcast that I ever listened to and it is what inspired me to continue looking for other podcasts with similar themes. It is super cool to hear from the founders of companies like Instagram, Warby Parker, and Airbnb, and to learn more about how they got their start.
For someone with an entrepreneurial mindset, this is a great podcast to listen to. There are a number of household names you will learn more about by listening. You get to learn about the struggles and failures of very successful people which is insightful if you are a business owner or looking to start a new venture.
Super Women with Rebecca Minkoff
This is a podcast that I recently began listening to and have become obsessed with. Designer Rebecca Minkoff, hosts a number of women from all sorts of backgrounds with different job titles. Rebecca along with her guests have a wealth of knowledge, and I think it is amazing that they are able to use this space to share this information with other ambitious girls and women.
It is empowering to listen to strong women speak on their experiences and how they got to where they are now. Some of her guests include Lauren Conrad, Jaclyn Johnson, and Nicole Gibbons. I always finish these episodes feeling motivated and inspired to create the life that I dream of for myself.
Thick & Thin
Katy is another young woman that I first found through YouTube. I began watching her videos when I was in middle school and since then, she has stood out to me as an individual with a unique and inspiring perspective on life.
In her podcast, she speaks more about her life experiences as a twenty-something college grad living in New York City. She speaks on topics that are relevant and relatable, like the fear of change and toxic relationships. She is extremely relatable, real, and transparent. For someone at such a young age, she has so much wisdom and insight. Katy reminds listeners that it is okay to not have it all together which I think is something that more young people need to hear.
